Fire Emblem is a series I happened upon purely by chance thanks to my sister. Because she didn't listen to me she bought Fire Emblem for the Gameboy Advance and I found myself falling in love with the series and its characters. Because there are so many wonderful characters found within each game I've found myself making a lot of related sites to some of my favorites. Check them out below.
Save the World ♣ Lucina
"I prayed to the Hero-King for a small part of the strength he used to save the world. But I need this subterfuge no longer. I choose to fight as Lucina now. The name that reminds me of the strength in the man and woman who chose it."
Save the World was a shrine I made because I was rejected for Lucina's fanlisting, and because several of my friends wanted to see a shrine for her. Lucina is easily my favorite character in Fire Emblem: Awakening, and is closely tied with Lyn for favorite female character in the entire series. As such, it was something I wanted to do, and so I'm really excited to have been able to create this site. This site analyzes various aspects of Lucina's character, ranging from her weapon to her association with the butterfly.
Braveheart ♣ Chrom
"You and me. Me and the others. The villagers we've met, the world we've seen. Such bonds are the true strength of this army. Without them, we're lost. Others may disagree, but that's one benefit of leadership: I make the final call."
I actually had plans to build a Chrom shrine before a Lucina shrine, but he kinda fell to the wayside after my friends bugged me to work on Lucina instead. After that it seemed like I had lost interest, almost completely dropping the idea all together. Some time later though I found myself inspired to work on Chrom once again. With this site I took a different approach and instead analyze his relationships with others. I really like this approach and think it works to explain the sort of person Chrom is.
Soul Survivor ♣ Lyn
"To the rest of my tribe, I was always Lyn. But when I was with my parents, I was Lyndis. It’s all so strange. I was all alone in the world, and now I have a grandfather. Lyndis... I never thought I would hear that name again."
Soul Survivor originally started out as a fanlisting, but even so it was still my very first attempt at making a shrine. This site has gone through numerous changes since its debut on the internet, and while it took me and embarrassing number of years to actually complete the shrine it was something I never once gave up on. Soul Survivor is my oldest site online, and it's crazy to think that this site has been online for more than a decade now. Lyn is just such an incredible character that it really is no surprise.
Second to None ♣ Cordelia
"I've always felt apart from the rest of society. Like I'm in a different world. And when I'd complain about this or that, no one would take me seriously. People would say, 'Oh, you're a genius. What do you have to complain about?'"
I'm not entirely sure how the idea of a Cordelia shrine came around to be honest. I think the reason was I wanted to shrine a minor character (as I'm prone to shrining main characters) and Cordelia was the first to come to mind. Reason being is she's a character I am most like when it comes to wanting to be perfect at everything. I can relate to Cordelia the most on a personal level––she works hard so that she can be the best at whatever it is she has set her sights on, all the while remaining modest about it.
Wyvern Friend ♣ Cherche
"Look at you! Aren't you a darling? Shall we be friends, you and I? ...Hmm, I suppose you've nothing but cold looks for would-be plunderers. Such a waste. You're the first Risen I've met with any real personality."
As much as I love Cherche she was not someone I had ever really considered making a shrine for. I was quite fine with owning just her fanlisting and leaving it at that. Then, because of something that happened in another game, things changed and I found myself wanting to make a shrine for her. She is such a fun and interesting character that it had to be done. Working on this shrine was fun, but I was worried it was going to be too long for a one page shrine. I guess not though so I'm safe. Whew!
