Despite my incredibly obvious obsession with video games, I happen to also like other things which have nothing to do with video games. Hard to believe, I know, but it's true. I love to watch certain TV shows and movies, and despite my dying love for anime and manga there are still a small few I enjoy. So it shouldn't be surprising that I'd end up making something from these types of media. Check them out below.
Better Tomorrows ♣ Tohru Honda
"Kindness is something that grows inside of each person's body, but it's up to us to nurture that kindness in our hearts. That's why kindness is different for every person. Mom taught me that people's differences are something to celebrate."
Tohru started out as a character I greatly admired, and since getting to know more about her she has since become my role model in life, and someone I aspire to be like. Because of this I wanted to expand her fanlisting into a shrine––not only to explain about the kind of person she is, but also about how much of an impact she has had on my life. This shrine is is still very much under construction so it's not finished yet, but hopefully soon! This shrine has been a dream project for more years than I care to admit.
Dreaming of Love ♣ Anna
"You don't have to protect me, I'm not afraid! Please don't shut me out again! Please don't slam the door. You don't have to keep your distance anymore. 'Cause for the first time in forever I finally understand."
Before I had even seen Frozen I knew I wanted Anna to be a character I liked. She did not disappoint, and she became my favorite character in the movie. I love her quirkiness, her fearlessness, and her desire to help her sister, Elsa, but more than anything I love how much she cares about her sister. While all my friends went and made Elsa shrines I wanted to be the one to make an Anna shrine, because Anna needs some love too. She is the leading lady after all, or maybe I'm just being biased because I like her more.
Sentience ♣ Data
"I am the culmination of one man's dream. This is not ego or vanity, but when Doctor Soong created me, he added to the substance of the universe. If, by your experiments, I am destroyed, something unique will be lost."
Despite being an android and having no emotions, I think Data is perhaps the most influential character in the entirety of Star Trek: The Next Generation. In his journey to become more human he makes you think on things that we otherwise take for granted and just want to become better yourself. Because of this he is easily my favorite character in the series. For a while I was contemplating closing this site, but after an unexpected burst of inspiration this site was revamped and is now here to stay.
Hikaru ♣ Rukia Kuchiki
"We are taught never to shed tears. For to shed tears means that the body has been defeated by emotion. And, to us, that simple act of crying proves, without question, that the existence of emotion is nothing but a burden."
A Rukia shrine was something I had wanted to do for years, but back in my early days of shrine making getting myself motivated enough to sit down and write any sort of content was extremely difficult. It's a wonder I ever managed to get this shrine up and finished, but I'm glad I was able to. Unfortunately I no longer follow the series. Still, I cannot bring myself to close this site, I think because I still love Rukia. For now the site will remain online, but it won't be updated. For now anyway...
